Visit to Bernheim Forest LEED Platinum Visitors Center

Visited the Bernheim Forest for the first time in... twenty years or more, today. What a Jewel which is often overlooked which is very unfortunate because its really just in the backyard.

Several of our Boy Scouts and leaders ventured our early this morning to reacquaint ourselves with the beauty and serenity of nature. Our first stop, and my personal highlight, was the LEED Platinum Visitors Center. Very nice tour by Bernheim staff educator who did a good job of explaining the high points of LEED and its principals of harmony and synthesis.

What a time to be alive. It's exciting to see the renewed focus on nature and the earth's natural systems. Research and development is moving us toward a future when we'll truly work in rhythm with nature and slowly stop the rapid depletion of natural resources.
